Slumber Company

Afton's sleeping patterns have been pretty varied, both when taking naps and going to bed for the night. There have been stretches where she has fallen asleep very easily, and then there have been moments (like the past couple of weeks) where she refuses to go to sleep without a fight...a long and loud fight. Lately she won't fall asleep at all if Stefanie isn't standing in her doorway, and to make sure Stefanie stays in the room Afton has started calling out random items in the room to try to get Stefanie to bring them over to her in the crib: "Book!...Blankie!...Nose!" (She calls out "Nose!" when she wants a tissue; lately she likes to fall asleep with a tissue that she uses to wipe her nose until she's asleep).

But something that has always been consistent is Afton wanting company in her crib from her various stuffed animals. Lately she's requesting to have her Care Bears more and more. When she gets laid down in her crib she'll cuddle up with her stuffed friends and will typically hold onto them for much of her nap. These are some photos Stefanie got during one of her recent naps.
