"It's for me?!"

We spent a few days in Mesquite before Christmas with Stef's family. During the Jensen family Christmas party we had the grand kids exchange gifts. It was decided that the order of opening gifts would be youngest to oldest. So Ellie got to go first. Since she is just a few months old the smaller cousins gathered on the floor to open her gift. Mya watched intently as the present was opened and presented to Ellie.

Then as the 2nd youngest it was Mya's turn next. She was given her present and sat on the floor and started to meticulously remove the wrapping. She opened up a Sleeping Beauty princess baby. But her initial reaction was very subdued. She looked at it for just a moment, and then starting walking towards Ellie. It was apparent that Mya thought that since the first gift went to Ellie that they must all be opening presents for her. On her way to gifting her gift she must have heard the calls of "Mya, that's your present" because all of a sudden she stopped, held it up, and exclaimed,

"It's for ME?!"

It was the most genuine and darling reaction to a present ever! Mya opened up a gift of something she'd love and without hesitating just thought it was going to baby Ellie. Once she realized it was actually her gift she was ecstatic. She bobbed her little body up and down as she put the baby to sleep, wrapped it in a blanket to keep it warm, and talked to it and kissed it and played with it all night.

Afton also had a great reaction to her present. She's always been great at loving everything she receives. This time she let out a big, "I wanted this my whole life!" It really was something she'd looked at in stores for a while so she was super excited to finally get one.
